Many hands build a house, many hearts build a school
We have an enthusiastic 'Criw Cymraeg' which is made up of members from Y2-Y6. We are currently working towards achieving the 'Siarter Iaith' Silver Award.
We were very lucky to be able to welcome Mr Phormula, an extremely talented beat boxer and live loop artist (he has gained international recognition as a leading beatboxer, rapper and producer), who shared his skills with us. Mr Phormula speaks both Welsh and English and he told us how the Welsh language has opened doors for him to be able to perform on the international stage. The children had a go at beatboxing, and he helped Class 2 and 3 children to create a class rap, which they then performed. We all thoroughly enjoyed his workshop!
We were also very lucky to welcome Aled from ‘Ynni Da’. Aled did energy workshops with Class 2 and 3 in the morning, which were both very informative and fun. In the afternoon, the whole school participated in a ‘Pedal-powered disco’. Aled set up 5 bikes which generated electricity, and the children took it in turns to pedal to power the disco. English and Welsh songs were played and we all had so much fun dancing and pedalling!
