Cluster Family Liaison Officer

Family Liaison Officer – How I Can Support You
As the Family Liaison Officer for the Gwernyfed catchment, my role is to build positive relationships between home and school, ensuring that every child and family feels supported, valued, and heard.
I am here to provide a friendly, confidential point of contact for parents and carers. Whether you have concerns about your child's wellbeing, attendance, behaviour, emotional health, or family circumstances, I can listen, offer guidance, and help you access the right support.
My aim is to work in partnership with families to help every child feel happy, safe, and able to achieve their full potential. No concern is too small, and you do not need to wait until a problem becomes bigger before getting in touch.
I can help by:
•    Offering a welcoming and supportive space to discuss any worries or challenges.
•    Working with parents and carers to overcome barriers that may affect a child's learning, attendance, or wellbeing.
•    Providing advice and signposting to local services and community organisations that can offer additional support.
•    Supporting families during difficult times, including changes at home, bereavement, financial hardship, or other personal circumstances.
•    Encouraging positive communication between home and school.
•    Helping families access school-based support and ensuring they understand the services available.
•    Working alongside teachers, school staff, and external agencies to ensure children receive the support they need.
•    Promoting children's wellbeing, confidence, and positive engagement with school.
