Clyro C.I.W. Primary School

Many hands build a house, many hearts build a school

School Council

The School Council meets fortnightly. There are two representatives from each year. The representatives on the School Council are voted into position each year (starting at Yr. 1.) The School Council allows the pupils to have a voice and their contributions are valued. They discuss things such as how to further improve our school, pupil’s concerns and worries, arrange competitions and fundraising events and much more! In the past we have organised the “Big Draw” arts event with John Williams from Eastnor Pottery who came and worked with us to make clay tiles as a frame for our new large blackboards, we have been involved in organising the 2019 Multi-Faith Day after pupil's feedback, we developed a Values Tree and have chosen the Values for our school.

At Clyro Church in Wales Primary School, our School Council plays an active role in school life. From organising events and fundraisers to planning for improvements in the day-to-day life of the children to undertaking monitoring. This year, 2023/24, we are focussing on re-developing our Pond/Nature Reserve area at the bottom of the school field.
